SCRANTON — The Scranton Shakespeare Festival hosts “The Madrigal Mix Tape” Dec. 10 and 11 at the Scranton Cultural Center, 420 North Washington Ave.

#ScrantonShakes presents its own interpretation of a madrigal dinner, an American form of dinner theater held during the Christmas season, which is typically set in the Middle Ages and divides a meal into courses that are accompanied by song.

The theater company plans to infuse its rendition of a madrigal dinner with popular music inside of the Cultural Center’s Shopland Hall.

Doors open at 8:30 p.m. Dec. 10 for a dress rehearsal, which offers an opportunity for patrons to mingle with performers and get to know the creative process. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 11 for a Renaissance inspired brunch catered by the State Street Grill and a full performance.

Admission to both performances and brunch costs $50. Admission to brunch and the Dec. 11 performance costs $40, and admission to the Dec. 10 dress rehearsal costs $20.

Reservations are encouraged. For more information, visit scrantonshakes.com or call the Cultural Center box office at 570-344-1111.
