WILKES-BARRE TWP. — The Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza was ranked among the top 200 arenas worldwide in ticket sales during the first three fiscal quarters of 2016 by Pollstar Magazine.

Earning another distinction, the arena was ranked fourth in the state of Pennsylvania behind only the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh and the Bryce Jordan Center at State College.

In a press release from the arena, general manager Brain Sipe thanked agents, promoters, employees and patrons for the arena’s success.

“If you look at the list of top markets in the entire world, and to know that we, at just under 10,000 seats, are ranked right beside them, I think that is a testament to the success of our arena,” Sipe said. “Not only that, but when you look at Pennsylvania, we only fall behind the two largest markets in the state and the 16,000 seat Bryce Jordan Center.”

From Jan. 1 to Sept. 30 of this year, the arena hosted acts including Elton John, Amy Schumer, WWE Live and Disney On Ice among a multitude of sold out and successful shows.

Elton John’s sold out show added to the ticket sales that earned the Mohegan Sun Arena fourth place among arenas in Pennsylvania according to Pollstar Magazine.
