THE LIGHT BETWEEN OCEANS — On a remote Australian island in the years following World War I, lighthouse keeper Tom Sherbourne (Michael Fassbender) and his wife, Isabel (Alicia Vikander), discover a boat washed ashore carrying a dead man and a two-month old baby. Rescuing the infant, they make the decision to raise her as their own but the consequences of their choice prove to be devastating. PG13, 133 minutes

HANDS OF STONE — At age 72, legendary trainer Ray Arcel (Robert De Niro) comes out of retirement to coach world-class Panamanian boxer Roberto Durán (Edgar Ramirez). Arcel becomes a mentor to the ferocious fighter, convincing him that winning ultimately comes down to strategy. After scoring knockout after knockout, Duran prepares for a bout against Sugar Ray Leonard, the undefeated lightweight champion. DON’T BREATHE — Rocky (Jane Levy), Alex and Money are three Detroit thieves who get their kicks by breaking into houses of wealthy people. Figuring he’s an easy target, the trio invades the man’s secluded home in an abandoned neighborhood. Finding themselves trapped inside, the young intruders must fight for their lives after making a shocking discovery about their supposedly helpless victim. R, 88 minutes

PETE’S DRAGON — The daughter of a woodcarver (Robert Redford) sets off to discover if her father is telling the truth about a mysterious dragon that lives deep in the woods. PG, 102 minutes

SAUSAGE PARTY — A 3D adult computer-animated comedy spoof starring Seth Rogen as Frank the Sausage who tries to discover the truth to his existence in a world where food and other items are anthropomorphic. R, 89 minutes

ANTHROPOID — A thriller based on the true story of Operation Anthropoid, the WWII mission to assassinate SS General Reinhard Heydrich, the main architect behind the Final Solution and the Reich’s third in command. R, 120 minutes

SUICIDE SQUAD — Intelligence officer Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) assembles a team of dangerous, incarcerated supervillains (Will Smith, Margot Robbie) for a covert mission. PG-13, 125 minutes

THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS — Max (Louis C.K.) is a spoiled terrier who enjoys a comfortable life in a New York building until his owner adopts Duke, a giant and unruly canine. During their walk outside, they encounter a group of ferocious alley cats and wind up in a truck that’s bound for the pound. PG, 91 minutes
