The Mavericks bring holiday tour to F.M. Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre

The Mavericks have earned critical acclaim and a Grammy Award with their fusion of traditional country and rock and roll.

WILKES-BARRE — Grammy Award-winning country fusion band The Mavericks perform at 8 p.m. Dec. 8 at the F.M. Kirby Center, 71 Public Square, as part of their “Sleigh Bells Ring Out!” Christmas tour.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Aug. 12, and are available through the Kirby Center box office, by phone at 570-826-1100 and online at www.kirbycenter.org. A pre-sale for Kirby members begins at 10 a.m. Aug. 10 through the same outlets.

Since the early ’90s, The Mavericks have earned critical acclaim for their marriage of traditional country and rock and roll. Fronted by singer/songwriter Raul Malo, the group has charted Top-40 singles with “O What a Thrill” and “There Goes My Heart.”

After a number of gold and platinum certified albums and world tours, The Mavericks had a resurgence in 2013 with their well-received album “In Time.”

Their latest studio effort, “Mono,” was released in February 2015.

Ticket prices for the Mavericks’ holiday show range from $35 to $69 plus fees.
