LAUREL RUN — The third annual Giants Despair Hillclimb Music Festival is scheduled for July 8 and 9, in conjunction with the Giants Despair Hillclimb, on the grounds at the intersection of Laurel Run Estates Road and East Northampton Street.

Seven acts perform over the course of two days. Music runs from 6 to 11 p.m. July 8 and featured acts include a Billy Fink acoustic set, Stonecats and Friends and Bonjak. Performances resume from 6 to 11 p.m. July 9, with sets by Moon’s Medicine Show, Pleasant Pheasant and Ragged Company and Friends with funny man Alan Dudeck between sets.

Admission to the festival is free, but patrons are encouraged to contribute to donation buckets in support of the Laurel Run Volunteer Fire Department. Patrons are also encouraged to bring their favorite chairs, pop-up tents and beverages to make themselves comfortable.

Festival organizer and Ragged Company keyboard player Joe Welgosh said, “All we ask is that everyone be kind to each other. Don’t litter and throw a few bucks in the bucket when it comes around. All proceeds go to the very generous Laurel Run Volunteer Fire Department; without them this wouldn’t happen. Thanks to all the musicians that are doing this out of the love for community, tradition, and of course, joy.”

Welgosh extends an invitation to all and requests that patrons help organizers grow the festival yearly by being generous to the cause and thoughtful of neighbors of the festival grounds.
