WILKES-BARRE — Singer-songwriter Robert Ellis is embarking on a record-release tour that brings him through the Wyoming Valley.

Ellis will perform at 7:30 p.m. June 15 at the F.M. Kirby Center, 71 Public Square. Tickets are on sale now at the Kirby Center box office, by phone at 570-826-1100 and online at www.kirbycenter.org. Ticket prices are $15 in advance and $20 the day of the show.

Ellis’ sophomore album Photographs was named one of the top 50 albums of 2011 by American Songwriter. His 2014 release The Lights from the Chemical Plant was produced by Jacquire King (Tom Waits, Kings of Leon, Norah Jones) and was met with critical acclaim.

The songwriter blends country, bluegrass and folk with tinges of pop influence. His fourth studio record drops on June 3, and he’ll begin his tour in support of the highly anticipated album shortly after.

Los Angeles based musician Tom Brosseau will open for Ellis at the June 15 performance.
