WILKES-BARRE — Internationally recognized Irish band Celtic Thunder is performing at 7 p.m. Aug. 30 at the F.M. Kirby Center, 71 Public Square.

The quintet of male vocalists backed by the eight piece Celtic Thunder band will present their show LEGACY, which celebrates the influence of Irish and Celtic music around the world. The show is a mixture of upbeat tunes like “Galway Girl” and “Raggle Taggle Gypsy” and more romantic Irish ballads like “Noreen” and “Danny Boy.”

Since forming in Dublin in 2007, Celtic Thunder has been named Top World Album Artist by Billboard in 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2015, and the band has had records placed in the World Album Top 10 every year since 2008.

Tickets for Celtic Thunder cost $49.50 to $65 and are available at www.kirbycenter.org. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. April 4. A pre-sale for Kirby Members will begin at 10 a.m. March 31.
