WILKES-BARRE — Casting Crowns began as a youth group worship band out of Florida and has grown to sell 8.8 million records including one RIAA double platinum album, four platinum and six gold records.

The Grammy Award-winning Christian band will perform at 7:00 p.m. April 29 at the F.M. Kirby Center, 71 Public Square. Tickets prices are $30, $43, $80 and $100, and tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. March 11 at the Kirby Center Box Office, by phone at 570-826-1100 and online at www.kirbycenter.org.

Chart-topping songs by Casting Crowns include “Who Am I,” “Voice of Truth,” and “Praise You In This Storm,” which are among nine No. 1 radio hits.

The band’s seven members are active in student ministry at their respective churches in Atlanta, and more than 80,000 children have been sponsored through their advocacy efforts at concerts.
