Episodes IV, V and VI to show at Star Wars Film Festival at F.M. Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre as part of W. Curtis Montz Film Series

WILKES-BARRE — Decades before “The Force Awakens” wowed a new generation of fans, the Star Wars film franchise cemented its place in science fiction history with its original trilogy, “A New Hope,” “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi.”

As a presentation of the W. Curtis Montz Film Series, a Star Wars Film Festival will take place starting at 1 p.m. Sept. 3 at the F.M. Kirby Center, 71 Public Square. Episode IV: “A New Hope” will show at 1 p.m. followed by Episode V: “The Empire Strikes Back” at 4 p.m. and Episode VI: “Return of the Jedi” at 8 p.m. All screenings cost $5 for adults and $3 for students with a valid ID. Tickets to all three shows can be purchased for $12 at the Kirby Center Box Office only.

According to a Kirby Center press release, the W. Curtis Montz Film Series offers critically acclaimed features on the area’s largest screen for the area’s lowest ticket price.
