If stereotypes are anything to be believed then showering Mom with chocolate, flowers, or a bottle of wine is a perfect Mother’s Day gift. However, stereotypes mean nothing here! Instead we recommend getting Mom a few bottles of great craft beer.

The growing trend of craft beer reaches far beyond male dominated beliefs that many assume with beer culture. A very large percentage of women have cultivated an appreciation for delicious craft beer, which should be no surprise to even the most sexist of men.

So if you are looking for something different to get Mom this year, look no further than this short list of great craft beers. This list has something for everyone regardless of taste.

Rogue Ales- MoM Hefeweizen with Rose Petals: This is by far the first choice when picking a craft beer for mom that lets the label do the talking. This was obviously brewed to be a perfect beer for Mom. The 4.8 percent ABV and light crisp hefeweizen base style is perfect for anyone regardless if Mom has ever had a craft beer before. The addition of the rose petals adds a very interesting aroma, but is absent in the taste. A great lead off beer for Mom on her special day!

Goose Island- Sofie: Spare Mom the lecture on Goose Island “selling out” to AB-InBev. Instead just let her try this incredible champagne-like saison that is one of the brewery’s best offerings. The 6.5 percent ABV is perfect for helping mom unwind and the aging in white wine barrels with citrus peels gives this beer a deep complexity. Notes of oranges, tangerines, vanilla, white pepper, and white wine makes for a beer Mom will love to have with that meal you are going to make for her!

21st Amendment- Hell or High Watermelon Wheat Beer: Temperatures are starting to warm as we prepare for summer and if you are planning a cookout on the deck for Mom, this is the beer to have. The crisp wheat beer flavors have the perfect touch of watermelon to make for a beer that is incredibly refreshing and juicy. It also goes well with a variety of foods and with the 4.9 percent ABV makes for a great beer to stock up on for the day!

Stone Brewing Co. – Enjoy By 5.30.16 Tangerine IPA: Is Mom a craft beer fanatic who loves enamel melting IPA’s and can’t seem to get enough hops? First off, congrats on having a bad ass mom! Stone Brewing Co.’s Enjoy By IPA series has long been a favorite among hopheads with its noted fresh, dank hop profile. The brewery decided to kick things up a notch with the addition of fresh tangerines which brings the citrus flavors to the forefront while still respecting the dank fresh hop profile drinkers love. This is the beer to get for a mom who loves those dank IPAs!

No matter what type of drink your mother enjoys, this short list of great beers certainly has something for her. Just remember, the most important thing on Mother’s Day is to spend time with loved ones. So if you bring a few beers over for Mom, remember to enjoy responsibly and don’t make Mom clean up after you on her day, you should be taking care of her!
