Friday the 13th Dance Party. $3. This event, designed with goth/post-punk admirers features tracks from classic slasher films, goretastic spectacles and memorable moments from the history of horror cinema. The evening includes music, movie clips, drink specials and more. The deadly dance party kicks off at 9 p.m. Friday, May 13, at the Irish Wolf Pub, 503 Linden St., Scranton.

Deathwish Birdie and more. $5. Deathwish Birdie shares a bill with Tusko, Space Junk and more acts yet to be announced. The music starts at 9 p.m. Friday, May 13, at Lyrics 18407, 76 South Main St., Carbondale. All money collected at the door goes to support musicians, and Deb’s kitchen is open for barbecue. Patrons must be 21 or older to attend.

Village Idiots. $5. In one form or another, The Village Idiots have delved into free-spirited music in an improvisational way since 1989. Although primarily associated with the Grateful Dead, the band covers a wide variety of music. They perform at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 11 at O’Leary’s Pub, 514 Ash St., Scranton.

Star Wars Night with the RailRiders. The force is with the RailRiders. Tickets start at $8. Gates open at 3 p.m., May 14 at PNC Field, 235 Montage Mountain Rd., Moosic. The RailRiders take on the Indianapolis Indians at 4:05 p.m., and the first 2,500 fans through the gate receive a CHAMP-Bacca bobble-head. Star Wars characters are on site for pictures during the game. Costumes are encouraged.
