KINGSTON — A woman was arrested Thursday and is facing several drug charges, police said.
According to the police report, the Kingston Police SID Division, along with members of the Kingston Police Department, conducted a controlled purchase of cocaine from a suspect at a second floor unit at 99 Third Ave., in Kingston.
Police said detectives applied for and received a search warrant for the residence and an arrest warrant for the suspect, identified as Shawneece Brianca Tiara Morse.
At approximately 10 a.m Thursday, police said officers observed the suspect leave the residence in a vehicle. The vehicle was stopped and Morse was stopped and arrested on the felony drug warrant.
A short time later, detectives executed the search warrant at 99 Third Ave. and recovered U.S. currency and the illegal drug “Molly” (MDMA) inside the residence. Also located inside the residence was a 2-year-old child who was left home alone, police said. The young child was turned over to Children and Youth.
Morse was charged with delivery of a controlled substance (cocaine), possession with intent to deliver (cocaine), criminal use of a communication facility, possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Morse was transported to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility after failing to post bail and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on May 18, at District Court 11-1-05.
