EDWARDSVILLE — Commonwealth Health First Hospital will host a free presentation on creating emotional wellness through artwork 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Thomas P. Saxton Medical Pavilion, Edwardsville. Frank Mariano, M.Ed, and Linda Keck, MA, will be the presenters.

The program will focus on arts and how creative expression can enhance emotional well-being.

This program will provide a focus on the role of art in health care and in schools and will include an art exhibit by elementary and middle school children on the theme, “Reflections on Gratitude.”

Light refreshments will be served while attendees have a chance to view all submitted artwork. The art exhibit opens at 5 p.m. To RSVP, call 570-552-3939.

Mariano consults with school districts and private entities primarily dealing with behavioral disorders and autism. He established two schools in Pennsylvania designed to meet the needs of students with psychiatric disorders, emotional disturbances and autism.

Keck, a licensed psychologist with a private practice in Kingston, is an accomplished artist. She has an undergraduate degree in art education from Kutztown University and a master’s degree in psychology from Marywood University. She has worked with both inpatient and outpatient populations, and as a student assistance professional in both public and private schools.
