WILKES-BARRE — Comedy great John Cleese of Monty Python fame, visits the Wyoming Valley to screen one of his iconic films and chat with local audience members.

“Monty Python & The Holy Grail” shows at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 28 at the F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts on Public Square. Afterward, Cleese will converse with the audience and hold a Q&A.

According to the event listing on the Kirby Center website, Cleese will tell stories of his life and career after Python’s cult classic is viewed on the big screen.

Tickets for the evening start at $79.50, go on sale at 10 a.m. Oct. 21 and are available at the Kirby Center box office, online at kirbycenter.org and by phone at 570-826-1100.

Other than his work with Monty Python, Cleese has appeared in programs such as “Cheers” and “3rd Rock from the Sun.” He’s acted in films like “Silverado” and “Rat Race,” and he’s co-authored two books on psychology, “Families and How to Survive Them” and “Life and How to Survive It.”
