This weekend, lace up some roller skates for a good cause.
This benefit helps one of our own, Times Leader reporter Melanie Mizenko, as she continues her fight against endometrial cancer. Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m., stop by Skateaway, at 610 Blackman St. in Wilkes-Barre, to have a little fun and join the fight against cancer.
There is a suggested donation of $5, and skate rentals are $2 during the event. Proceeds will help Mizenko with medical bills and traveling expenses incurred while driving to and from Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia.
In addition to skating, there will be basket raffles, a Chinese auction and more events both inside and outside, weather permitting.
