SCRANTON — Legendary rocker Gregg Allman has canceled all of his tour dates through Oct. 16, including The Peach Music Festival in Scranton on Friday and Sunday, because of “serious health issues,” according to a post on his official Facebook page.

As of Friday, Allman was under the care of his doctor at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., according to the Facebook post.

The founding member of the Allman Brothers Band released a statement saying, “I want to thank my fans and friends for supporting me while I rest up and focus on getting better and back on the road as soon as I can. I’ve been working hard with my band, my pride and joy, to play our music for everyone. We’ll see y’all in October.”

Allman said he plans to return for the Laid Back Festival at the Lakewood Amphitheatre in Atlanta on Oct. 29. Tour dates after that festival are still confirmed.
