Former Great Big Sea frontman Alan Doyle comes to F.M. Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre
WILKES-BARRE — Lead singer of Newfoundland, Canada’s celebrated group Great Big Sea, Alan Doyle performs at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 25 at the F.M. Kirby Center, 71 Public Square, with his current project Alan Doyle & The Beautiful Gypsies.
The concert is part of the theater’s ongoing “Live from the Chandelier Lobby” series.
Doyle’s 2016 tour throughout Canada and the U.S. is in support of his latest solo record “So Let’s Go.” A news release from the Kirby Center said the new album continues to cement Doyle’s reputation as one of North America’s most treasured musicians and storytellers.
The songwriter’s solo career follows his tenure with Great Big Sea, in which nine albums were declared gold or platinum and 1.2 million copies were sold in Canada.
Tickets cost $20 in advance and $25 the day of the show. They go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, June 10, and are available at the Kirby Center box office, by phone at 570-826-1100 and online at www.kirbycenter.org. A pre-sale for Kirby members begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 8.
