Songwriter’s Confessional: First Edition. $10. Local songwriters Robb Brown Dustin Drevitch, Aaron Fink and Adam McKinley bare their souls for an evening of original music starting at 7:30 p.m. June 2, at the Downtown Arts Center, 47 North Franklin St. Hosted by McKinley and James Yamrus, the evening features each songwriter in solo acoustic fashion for a 30 minute set, and patrons can expect a few collaborative covers as an encore. The event is 21 and over and BYOB. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Reality Distortion Field. $5. Local musician Evan James will host a DJ night featuring a mixture of hip hop, dance, electronic and new wave. The 10 p.m. June 3 event at The Other Side, 119 South Main St., Wilkes-Barre is only for those 21 and over. For more information, call the venue at 570-970-9570.

Kolor For Kids. Tickets cost $25 for adults, $20 for kids 11 to 18 and $10 for kids 6 to 10. There is a $5 additional fee for day-of registration, and children under 5 are free. The second annual Partners for Pediatrics color run starts at 10 a.m. June 5 at 190 Welles St., Forty Fort. Premier Talking Heads Tribute act Start Making Sense returns to Plains at 10 p.m. June 3 at the River Street Jazz Cafe, 667 North River St. With a growing reputation for their wildly entertaining stage show, masterful reproduction of Talking Heads songs and deep knowledge of the Heads catalogue, Start Making Sense thrills audiences and keeps them dancing. Scranton duo Skip Monday opens in support of SMS. Doors open at 8 p.m.
