Things to do in the Scranton area this weekend
Swingin’ On Vine. $15. The seventh annual block party takes place from 5 to 8 p.m. May 27 in front of the Albright Memorial Library on the 500 block of Vine Street in downtown Scranton. The event features music by Paul LaBelle and the Exact Change, beer, wine, margaritas, raffles and food from local businesses and restaurants. All proceeds benefit the library. Tickets are available at lclshome.org/swinginonvine. Patrons must be 21 and over to attend.
The Tisburys & Skip Monday. No cover. Scranton bands The Tisburys and Skip Monday play melodic indie rock from 6:30 to 10 p.m. May 28, at Adezzo, 515 Center St., Scranton. The event is all ages, and Adezzo’s coffee is available for purchase during the show.
Better Than Bad. No cover. Alternative Scranton rockers, Better Than Bad, play a full band, high energy show from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. May 28. at Thirst T’s Bar & Grill, 120 Lincoln St., Olyphant.
Jessup Carnival. The Jessup Carnival opens at 6 p.m. May 25, and runs until 7 p.m. May 30 at the Jessup Hose Co. #2, 333 Hill St., Jessup. Ride wristbands for May 25, 26 and 27 are $18.
