WILKES-BARRE — At 8 p.m. Thursday, April 28, hip hop artist Lupe Fiasco will perform at Wilkes-Barre’s F.M. Kirby Center. Doors will open at 7 p.m.

Fiasco released his debut album in 2006 — the same year he was named one of GQ’s Men of the Year. The artist’s socially-conscious lyrical content bleeds into his personal endeavors, with Fiasco publicly supporting causes such as Occupy Wall Street, Stand Up to Cancer and various humanitarian efforts around the world.

The April 28 event, held in conjunction with Wilkes University, is $10 for students, $25 for alumni and $35 to the public. Public tickets can be purchased via Ticketmaster; tickets for members of the Wilkes University community are available at the university’s Henry Student Center.
