SCRANTON — The inaugural Scranton Cultural Center Honors will take place at 6 p.m. March 31 at the Scranton Cultural Center, 420 North Washington St. Modeled after the Kennedy Center Honors, the event will recognize four organizations that are long-standing community partners of the SCC.

The inaugural honorees will be Allied Services, Broadway Theater League of Scranton/NAC Entertainment, Lackawanna County Department of Arts & Culture and People’s Security Bank.

Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served from 6 to 7 p.m., and the awards ceremony will follow immediately afterward. Past presidents of the SCC’s board of directors will present awards, and the ceremony will feature local performers with presentations specific to honorees.

In a press release from the SCC, executive director Deborah Moran said, “There are so many organizations that are vital to our sustainability, and this is our way to thank them.”

Tickets for the event cost $100 and include hors d’oeuvres, premium open bar, desserts and entertainment. Proceeds will benefit the Scranton Cultural Center.
