Choice Eats: For the ninth year, The Village Voice Annual Choice Eats Tasting Event returns to the Metropolitan Pavilion on March 11. More than 50 restaurants representing all five NYC boroughs will offer samples of their best dishes, paired with complimentary craft beer, wine and liquor. St. Paddy’s Day Pub Crawl: Celebrate the Irish early this year with two pub crawls on March 11 and 12. The party starts on Friday with the Happy Hour Saint Paddy’s Pub Crawl. Registration starts at 5 p.m. at three venues and drink specials are offered until 2 a.m. Tickets are $4.95 per person. Robotics Competition: The Jacob Javits Convention Center hosts the 16th anniversary of the NYC FIRST Competition and Expo from March 11-13 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.). For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology weekend incorporates three robotics competitions, featuring more than 200 robotics teams from the tri-state area, and teams from China, the UK, Turkey and Ecuador. Teams compete for the regional championship, which qualifies them for the global championship.
