For Alan Lambert, his trip to Mystic Crystal meant creating a permanent work of art capturing his own story – past to present.

The 32-year-old from Mifflinville is originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana – and he enlisted the help of Brent Simon to create a lasting work of art commemorating his journey.

“I’ve served in the U.S. Marine Corps, moved back and forth between here and down south,” Lambert said. “This is one of the first few sessions on a full sleeve I’m starting with Brent to commemorate my life from beginning to now.”

Simon already began with a fleur-de-lis, and added an undead Mardi Gras girl, capturing the essence of Bourbon Street and the flair of Louisiana culture.

“Brent is a real artist,” Lambert said. “He’s got artistic vision. He’s someone I can trust.”
