DICKSON CITY — On March 10, Pittsburgh-based restaurant chain Primanti Bros. will open its 31st location at 1249 Commerce Boulevard, Dickson City, and the first 100 customers through the doors will win free Primanti sandwiches for a year.

The restaurant will allow sandwich seekers to begin lining up at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9 before Primanti’s opens the following afternoon.

Primanti Bros. was started in the 1930s by Joe Primanti, who sold sandwiches out of a cart in Pittsburgh’s Strip District. Joe, his brothers Dick and Stanley and nephew John DePriter opened the restaurant’s first storefront on 18th Street, and today the restaurant has expanded to include locations in Pittsburgh suburbs, Maryland and Florida.

Primanti Bros. sandwiches can be topped with select meats, optional egg, melted provolone cheese, secret recipe coleslaw, tomato and fresh-cut fries (yes, on the sandwich). The restaurant also features special creations, like their Pitts-burger.
