Things to do in the Scranton area this weekend
Earthmouth CD Release. $5. Foul Taste, King Bison and Wrath of Typhon will join Earthmouth at 9 p.m. Feb. 12 at the Irish Wolf Pub, 503 Linden St., Scranton, to celebrate the release of their third album “Harvest of the Autumn Sun.”
Valentine’s Day Masacre. $5. One Red X promises to rip your heart out at 9 p.m. on Feb. 13 at New Penny, 1827 North Main Ave., Scranton. They will be joined by special guests Delerium, a tribute to Metallica and Megadeath. Patrons must be 21 and over to enter.
Frozen Frontier: Festival of Ice: Head a little northwest of Scranton for the annual winter festivities in Clarks Summit. Trolley tours run from 5 to 7 p.m. on Feb. 12 with a Family Fun Faire at 6 p.m. The festival parade begins at 7:30 p.m. The Festival of Ice continues 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 13 to 15 with live music, ice carving, horse and carriage rides and more. A Broadway Valentine. $5 to $15 If you’re in the mood for love — and the songs from Broadway and the American Songbook that pay tribute to that most celebrated emotion — you’re invited to hear the Symphonic Chorus and soloists of the Choral Society of Northeast Pennsylvania at 4 p.m. Feb. 14 in Shopland Hall at Scranton Cultural Center, 420 N.
