Who

…will be appearing at Mount Airy Casino Resort this Saturday?

Renowned and controversial comedian Gilbert Gottfried will take the stage Jan. 18 at 8 p.m.

Gottfried began his career at the young age of 15, when he began doing amateur stand-up in New York City and in 1980 became a cast member of NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.” Additionally, Gottfried has been a regular on “Hollywood Squares” and is a frequent guest on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and “The Howard Stern Show.”

What

…popular Scranton eatery is in a bit of financial trouble, yet is seeing tremendous (and possibly life-saving) support from its patrons?

Eden – A Vegan Cafe opened in 2008, the city’s first 100 percent vegan restaurant, bringing New American Vegan Cuisine to all who walked through its doors. Due to hard economic times, the cafe announced its closing on Jan. 8 – and the response was astounding.

There was an immediate outpouring of support for the business, and all the love sent its way prompted founder Christian Pilosi to implement a process that he hopes will save the cafe. The first step in his four-step plan is to campaign to help get him back on his feet and pay all outstanding personal and business expenses through an Indiegogo campaign.
