Yes, there’s a beer for that and John J. Hudak will show the perfect pairings on Monday, Sept. 29.

The American Culinary Federation of Professional Chefs of NEPA will host the second Beer Pairing Dinner.

“We had one in June and there was just a great response to it,” Hudak said. “There’s no other beer dinner like this one out there. It’s a big party with great beer and great food.”

What could make it any better? The dinner is also a fundraiser for the 1st Lt. Michael J. Cleary Memorial Foundation. The Dallas native was killed in Iraq on Dec. 20, 2005 in an ambush by hostile forces after just completing a demolitions mission.

It will also benefit the American Culinary Federation Professional Chefs of NEPA Pennsylvania, Inc.

“There’s going to be six courses. It’s more of a tasting menu,” Hudak said. “Even if people aren’t beer fans, anyone who appreciates good food is going to like this event.”

Hudak said many of the tastings items include beer as one of the ingredients.

“At the last dinner we even had beer ice cream,” he said.

The event will take place at Vanderlyn’s Restaurant 239 Schuyler Avenue in Kingston.

Tickets to the event cost $65 and payment can be made by cash, check or money order.

Reservations are encouraged.
