Who

…will be a part of the world’s biggest heavy music touring event, the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival?

For starters, there needs to be even more room to accommodate all the heavy hitters. Not only will this year’s festival include the massive Rockstar Energy Drink Main Stage and Coldcock American Herbal Whiskey stage, two additional stages will be in play: the Sumerian Records/Headbang for the Highway and Victory Records stages.

This year’s line-up includes: Avenged Sevenfold, Korn, Asking Alexandria, Trivium, Cannibal Corpse, Suicide Silence, Miss May I, Mushroomhead, Texas Hippie Coalition, King 810, Body Count featuring Ice-T, Upon A Burning Body, Veil of Maya, Darkest Hour, Emmure, Ill Nino, Wretched, Islander, and Erimha.

What

…the hell is going on?! Just this past week we saw the announcement of two local music entities splitting up.

On their official Facebook page, The Badlees announced the sorrowful news in a statement penned by Pete and Ron that expressed that Bret and Paul decided to leave the band. However, it went on to say that the group will perform all the booked shows listed on its website with Nyke and Dustin and some “special guests.”

“The Badlees have always been greater than the sum of its parts, and therefore, after these shows are done, we will not be performing or recording as ‘The Badlees’ for the foreseeable future,” the post went on to say. “We want to honor the legacy of ‘The Badlees’ and we feel that this is the best way to do that. All of us will still continue to make music outside of the band.”

And then came Tim Farley, announcing his “Farewell Farley Tour.”

“It is with mixed emotions that we announce the end of Farley in Pennsylvania,” a statement by the band read. “After many years of performing, recording albums, and playing with the best musicians in this area, Tim Farley has decided to take his talents to the stages and recording studios of Austin, TX. This is a tremendous opportunity that has been many years in the making and Tim and his family are very excited about what is to come in this next chapter of his music career!”

Following the same plan as The Badlees, Farley will play its various scheduled shows in Pennsylvania throughout May.

“Although we are sad to see this project come to an end we also recognize that every end is a new beginning, and the future has never looked brighter.”
