Actor: Seth Brandreth

Character: Fred Graham (Petruchio) in Little Theatre of Wilkes-Barre’s production of “Kiss Me, Kate,” which runs May 16-18.

WEEKENDER: Who is the character you play?

SETH BRANDRETH: Fred Graham is an accomplished theatre actor who, despite trying his best for years, has never really “made it big.”

WEEKENDER: Describe your character.

SB: He is charismatic, charming, and just a little full of himself. The script describes him as writer, producer, director, actor, and superman.

W: Are you anything like your character?

SB: I’m really not at all like the character aside from us both being actors and singers.

W: What’s your favorite scene or song in the show?

SB: My favorite song of the show is “I’ve Come to Wive It Wealthily in Padua.” This is a very catchy and clever song in which Petruchio sings of his intent to marry solely for money and makes fun of women.

W: If you could go anywhere with your character for a day, where would you take him and what would you do?

SB: I would definitely take Petruchio to Italy and spend the day eating, drinking, and, of course, being merry.
