Man of the Week: Ernest T. Urganus III
First Posted: 12/1/2014
Full name: Ernest T. Urganus III
Favorite Weekender feature: I don’t have a favorite Weekender feature. I prefer to read all of the listings in the feature to see if any interesting/exciting events are in the neighborhood.
Favorite bar/restaurant: My favorite restaurant would have to be Chuck’s diner on Main St. I love going there with my close friends, Derek Jolley and Danny Washington along with a man I consider to be my second dad, David Jolley. As far as a bar, well none. I’m not old enough yet.
What are you passionate about? I’m very passionate about several things. Our country is one. I wish to serve this nation with honor. Also, politics always did interest me. Maybe I’ll move in that direction later on in life. Lastly, cars. I’m a huge lover of cars, Chevrolet in particular. I want to race cars legitimately on a course to see what it’s like.
Who do you admire? My father, Ernest T. Urganus Jr. He passed when I was just two years old but I’m sure no matter what I do in life and all the things I accomplish, he’ll smile and say “That’s my boy”.
What’s something most people don’t know about you? I’m an amateur Country singer. I practice a lot and my friends always said I sounded really good. I’m not from the south but when I sing, the southern accent comes out in my voice. Also, people at work like to call me “Goose” from the movie Maverick because of my aviator sunglasses. I didn’t want to be called Goose but it stuck … Thanks Mark.
Are you a dog person or a cat person? I love them both. I have two cats that I’ve had since I was about five or six years old. When I’m a little older I think I’ll get either German Shepard or an Alaskan husky.
If you had to pick, would you want someone with beauty or brains? If I had to choose, I would prefer brains over beauty. Someone that’s intellectual and independent. Enjoys simple things in life like driving one to two hours just to get to a scenic view, for an example. Nice nights out for food and movies.
My last meal would be: My last meal would have to be the stuffed shells that my mom makes. I absolutely love Italian food but when my mom makes Italian food, it’s so amazing.
My theme song would be: I would have to say “I want Crazy” by Hunter Hayes. That song means a lot to me. That was the song I first learned to semi play on the guitar as well as getting me into singing country music.
My best concert was: Hunter Hayes when he performed at the Bloomsburg fair. What a great time that was.
For a good time I: Like to hang out with my friends. Simple as that. There’s no telling what ends up happening when we can all get together and chill. Whether it be Danny yelling Icona pop lyrics out of my car window to relaxing to some Netflix and conversation at Derek’s house.”
