This year’s season of Third Fridays is wrapping up.

The final event runs from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17.

This month, the Arc of Luzerne County is the featured artist of the month. The organization provides assistance and resources to those with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. The Arc has partnered with Pennsylvania Office of Developmental Programs to seek out those with disabilities to submit photographs of their vision for the future. These people are encouraged to create their vision through artwork which is titled “Vision of the Future.”

Other events that will be held during the Third Friday include various artists at venues throughout the Public Square and downtown area.

Volunteers from the Osterhout Free Library will be telling ghost stories and will have Halloween crafts available for children to make. Author Thomas Cerra will be signing copies of his book “Black Rose.”

An open mic poetry evening will be held at Arts SEEN Gallery after regular Third Friday hours. From 8 to 10 p.m. Ashley Nessman will host the event. Those in attendance are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes.

The Third Friday event is free and everyone is invited to participate.
