…is seeking a stage manager for an upcoming local production?
Theatre at the Grove is looking for stage managers for productions of “Harvey,” which runs May 2 to 11; “Fiddler on the Roof,” which runs June 6 through 22; and “Hair,” which runs July 25 to Aug. 11.
Managers must be available for all performances and most of the rehearsals. Grove is seeking those that have good communication and organizational skills and are team players.
Those interested can send a private message to the Theatre at the Grove Facebook page or e-mail Artistic Director Michael Marone at [email protected]
The deadline to submit is March 2 for “Harvey” and March 9 for “Fiddler” and “Hair.”
…will be the next featured town in WVIA’s “Our Town” documentary series?
It seems Luzerne is set to be the focus, the first area from Luzerne County. “Our Town Luzerne” will be a day-in-the-life, one-hour video scrapbook focusing on the people, places, and happenings of Luzerne as told through the eyes of its residents.
All Luzerne residents are encouraged to attend the first “Our Town Luzerne” community/volunteer meeting today at 6 p.m. at the Volunteer Fire Department (66 Tener St., Luzerne). Residents of Luzerne will discuss which landmarks, events, and local stories the program should tell about their town. WVIA will answer questions about the project during the meeting and ask volunteers to brainstorm a list of subjects and events to videotape.
On March 6 at 6 p.m., WVIA will hold a second community/volunteer meeting at the Volunteer Fire Department. During this meeting, volunteers will participate in a whiteboard session to determine the stories to be told in the documentary and which stories each volunteer will videotape to create “Our Town Luzerne.” WVIA hopes to recruit 20 to 25 area residents with personal camcorders.
Anyone interested in being a videographer and/or storyteller for the documentary should contact WVIA “Our Town” producer Lisa Mazzarella at 570.602.1164 or by e-mailing [email protected]
“Our Town Luzerne” will debut in May 2014 on WVIA-TV.
