Send that hard-to-shop-for person to a show this year.

Several venues in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area bring in some top-name acts, and there just happen to be a couple of professional sports teams in the area. So a gift of tickets or gift cards would bring a cheer of appreciation.

F.M. Kirby Center

The downtown Wilkes-Barre venue offers gift certificates so that the gifted one will be able to choose from live performances such as stand-up comedy, classic rock, opera, ballet, Broadway musicals, country music or alternative rock.

You can purchase the gift certificates on the Kirby website or through the box office. Prices vary based on the show.

Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza

Purchase arena certificates in increments of $10, $20, $30, $50 or $100. Certificates may be used to purchase tickets for nearly all arena concerts, shows and hockey games, including those of the Pittsburgh Penguins’ minor league team, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Some shows may be restricted, though, and the certificates can’t be used for Ticketmaster purchases.
