Let’s be honest here for a moment: We all have something that we would like to change about our appearance. For some, it may be gaining muscle. Others may wish they could change their nose or have nicer teeth. For me, it was my hair. I started losing my hair in college. According to the American Hair Loss Association, two-thirds of men will experience appreciable hair loss by the age of 35. By the age of 50, approximately 85 percent of men will have significantly thinning hair and approximately 25 percent of men who suffer from male pattern baldness begin the process before they even reach the age of 21.

Despite statistics revealing that I was in good company, I didn’t feel any comfort. I started wearing a hat everywhere I went, avoiding formal events that would require me to be hatless as often as possible. I even remember opting to sleep in a bathtub at a party once so I didn’t have to take my hat off in front of everybody.

Don’t get me wrong – some men look great bald: Jason Statham. Vin Diesel. Kermit the Frog.

Personally, I thought it made me look like a pedophile.

Irritated by wearing a hat unceasingly, I realized it was time to do something about it. Then I realized I was young and flooded with student loan debt. F—k me, right?

“There’s no way I could afford hair restoration like David Beckham or Matthew McConaughey,” I thought to myself. “Is the invasive procedure of removing a strip of skin from the back of my head even worth it?”

Well aware it was out of my means to restore my hair with a multi-thousand dollar procedure, I’d often find myself Googling options regardless. One night, I found a website, hairbytosi.com, pledging to have a totally natural, completely undetectable, non-surgical solution to hair loss. Curious, I had to take advantage of the free consultation.

When I arrived at Tosi’s Hair Replacement Clinic, Inc., in Exeter, I was warmly welcomed by Tina in a private styling room. Within seconds, I felt like I was a guest in her home as opposed to her potential client, while she explained that Tosi’s was a family business started by her mother, a cosmetologist, over 35 years ago as a solution to her father’s hair loss.

The consultation continued with a scalp evaluation that could help me make an informed decision on what treatment was best for my hair loss problem. I was blown away to learn that I could have a full head of real hair without surgery.

Even better, it was actually something I could afford, as the maintenance and restoration is a monthly fee comparable to a cell phone bill. Moving forward, Tina made a mold of my scalp for a hair addition that could match the curves of my head perfectly while examining the color of my growing hair.

Approximately 12 weeks later, my hair addition with real human hair arrived. In the length of an average haircut, it was integrated with my own hair and I had a full head of hair.

It was the first time I looked in the mirror and looked my age in years. I can wash it. Gel it. Ride on a rollercoaster. Swim. Skydive. It won’t go anywhere.

I see so many guys my age on Facebook who shave their heads and accept what they feel is inevitable. It doesn’t have to be. Watch how non-invasive my restoration was, and how natural it looks, exclusively on theweekender.com.
