SEVENTH SON — Supernatural champion, Master Gregory, (Jeff Bridges) defeated Mother Malkin (Julianne Moore), a malevolent witch. THE LOFT — Five friends share a penthouse in the city to carry on extramarital affairs. The dead body of an unknown woman turns up. BLACK SEA — After losing his salvage job, former naval officer Robinson (Jude Law) assembles a misfit crew of unemployed sailors for a risky mission: Find a sunken Nazi U-boat, rumored to contain a fortune in gold. Promising each man an equal share, Robinson leads the mixed British and Russian crew to comb the depths of the Black Sea. MORTDECAI — Charismatic British aristocrat and part-time shady art dealer Charlie Mortdecai (Johnny Depp) suffers from constant lack of funds to support his lavish lifestyle. When Alistair Maitland (Ewan McGregor), a college friend and officer in MI5, asks him to find a stolen Goya painting, he accepts. But Charlie’s not the only one with designs on the painting; an American heiress and a revolutionary want it too. The artwork is rumored to contain the code to a bank account filled with Nazi gold. AMERICAN SNIPER — U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle (Bradley Cooper) takes his sole mission — protect his comrades — to heart and becomes one of the most lethal snipers in American history. His pinpoint accuracy saves countless lives and makes him a prime target of insurgents. Despite grave danger and his struggle to be a good husband and father to his family, Kyle serves four tours of duty in Iraq. When he returns home, he finds he cannot leave the war behind. R; 2:12
PADDINGTON — From the beloved novels by Michael Bond, “Paddington” tells the story of the comic misadventures of a young Peruvian bear (voiced by Ben Whishaw) who travels to the city in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone, he realizes city life is not all he had imagined – until he meets the kindly Brown family who read the label around his neck that says “Please look after this bear. Thank you,” and offer him a temporary haven. It looks as though his luck has changed until this rarest of bears catches the eye of a museum taxidermist. PG; 1:35
SELMA — Although the Civil Rights Act of 1964 legally desegregated the South, discrimination was still rampant in certain areas, making it hard for blacks to register to vote. In 1965, an Alabama city became the battleground in the fight for suffrage. Despite violent opposition, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (David Oyelowo) and his followers pressed forward on an epic march from Selma to Montgomery, and their efforts culminated in President Lyndon Johnson signing the Voting Rights Act of 1965. TAKEN 3: It Ends Here — Ex-covert operative Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) and his ex-wife, Lenore (Famke Janssen), are enjoying a reconciliation when Lenore is brutally murdered.
