“This car has been in my family since it was brand new,” Austin said. “My aunt bought it brand new in 1979, drove it as her daily driver for 10 or 11 years, took good care of it, then gave it to me as a present on my 16th birthday so that I could have a car. I’ve taken care of it ever since then, even did a frame off restoration when I got older and started making some money. The thing that I have always loved most about this car has been the plaid seats. I loved them when I was a little kid and she would take us to the store or out to McDonald’s or something, I loved them when I started driving the car, and I still love them today. I think they make the car and make it unique.”
