The 2015 Stellar Gospel Music Awards aired on TV One Easter Sunday. Taped the previous week in Las Vegas, the telecast kicked off with a surprise reunion of Destiny’s Child.

“You know what; Michelle (Williams) was up for some awards. She told us that she was opening the show, and we wanted to be there to support her,” explained Kelly Rowland, who along with Beyoncé, joined Williams on stage. “It was just as simple as that to be honest.”

Rowland, who spoke with “Ralphie Tonight” last week via telephone, said it was “awesome” to be back on stage with her bandmates.

“It’s very natural for us to sing together,” she said. “It was easy — super, super easy.”

The performance of Williams’ “Say Yes” marked the first time that the three ladies had shared the stage since Beyonce’s 2013 Super Bowl Halftime Show.

“When it happens, it happens. It’s nothing that we premeditate on,” said Rowland of how the ladies decide when and where they will reunite. “If it happens, it happens. But, it’s fun when it does happen.”

Rowland noted that unlike the Super Bowl, no power outages were reported following the show.

“But we did have a lot of fun!” she said. “We actually kept singing after the music went off. We were like, ‘Ok, there’s other people here to sing. So we have to get off the stage. Exit stage right ladies, here we go.”

And after their successful comeback, the award show gave the ladies another reason to celebrate as Williams took home her first Stellar Award. “Say Yes” picked up Video Of The Year. The song is lifted from the album, “Journey To Freedom.”

In other DC-related music news, Beyoncé debuted a new single Saturday called “Die With You.” The ballad was released in celebration of her and husband Jay Z’s seventh wedding anniversary. “Die With You” premiered on Tidal, a new music streaming service that Jay, nee Shawn Carter, purchased for $56 million.

As for Rowland, she gave birth to her first child in November with husband Tim Weatherspoon. The artist is currently working on her fifth studio album and is undecided on whether she will distribute it independently or return to a major record label.

“I feel like we have so many options and so much freedom now that I haven’t made a complete decision,” she revealed. “So I’m still thinking it all out.”

Rowland called “Ralphie Tonight” on behalf of Claritin; she is a spokesperson for the brand. For inquiring minds, yes, all three members of Destiny’s Child have allergies. Rowland “grew in to” hers when she was 30.
